Irish bodyguard Paul Higgins has played a leading role this week in the ongoing investigation into the shock death of former One Direction star Liam Payne at a hotel in Argentina.
A native of Bray, Co. Wicklow, Higgins is well-known to fans of One Direction having worked as the boyband’s tour manager for several years and, later, as Liam Payne’s minder.

Prior to One Direction, Higgins had served as Westlife’s security chief.

Now living in Dungannon, Co. Tyrone, Paul is a close friend of the Payne family and he travelled to Buenos Aires late last week with the tragic star’s father, Geoff, to identify Liam’s body and make arrangements to bring him home.
