Week 10 was another day at the office for Mahomes, as he threw for four touchdowns in a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Chiefs are the No. 1 seed in the AFC at the moment, and Mahomes is on pace to break Peyton Manning’s single-season passing yards record.
With Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills losing their second straight game in Week 10, Mahomes’ only competition appears to be Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts at the moment. Hurts and the undefeated Eagles have a Monday Night Football date with the Washington Commanders.

While Hurts can build his case on Monday night, Mahomes already has a pretty rock solid one in Kansas City. The Miami Dolphins are on the Chiefs’ tail for the No. 1 seed in the conference, but for now, Andy Reid’s club can run the table and finish with the top spot.
Mahomes has been electric all season, throwing for 300 or more yards in four straight games and posting a 25-7 touchdowns to interception ratio.
With Allen, the preseason favorite for the award, stumbling with two late turnovers against Minnesota, Mahomes can really control his own destiny here. Hurts certainly has a case if the Eagles remain undefeated, but Mahomes’ individual performance may give him the edge.
