Jason Kelce wear for his Monday Night Football debut?

The retired Philadelphia Eagles star, 36, is joining Monday Night Countdown this season and fans can’t wait to find out what his wardrobe will be.

“Do I have to wear a suit?” Kelce jokingly asked an ESPN executive when PEOPLE asked him what fans can expect from his on-air wardrobe during media day on Aug. 28.

“It’s tough to answer because I don’t even know what I’m wearing tomorrow, let alone what I’m wearing in two weeks,” he added.”I’m very much, normally when I’m not at a professional setting or something that my image is representative of another company am I worried about what I wear,” he said. “I wear what’s comfortable, what I think is functional, it’s something that I want to put on, because it’s quite frankly easy to put on.”

Kelce joked, though, that his ever-popular sandals are purely a result of laziness. He wears them because he doesn’t have to “bend over to put on socks.”

For what he’ll actually be wearing on TV, everyone will just have to wait and see.

“It’ll be interesting to see how that unfolds for myself,” he teased. “I’m just going to try and wear things that represent, I guess, what I like and what ESPN will allow me to.”
