Devastated parents forced to pull the plug on their 13-year-old daughter after sleepover horror 💔😢 They've now issued a warning to spare others from the same tragedy

In a heart-wrenching interview with Australian television host Ally Langdon, the unimaginable pain of Andrea and Paul Haynes unfolded as they recounted the harrowing ordeal of having to make the devastating choice to let go of their beloved 13-year-old daughter, Esra Haynes. Their tale is one of profound sorrow, as they grappled with the aftermath of a fateful sleepover that ended in tragedy.

Ally Langdon tears up alongside parents of Esra Haynes, 13, who died after 'chroming'

Esra, a vibrant young athlete known for her determination and talent, had a promising future ahead. Her passion for BMX racing and her role as co-captain of the Montrose Football Netball Club underscored her zest for life. However, on that fatal night of March 31, Esra’s life took a tragic turn when she fell victim to the insidious allure of a dangerous trend sweeping through social media: chroming.

The sleepover, a routine gathering with friends, took a sinister turn when Esra, seeking a lethal high, indulged in the inhalation of aerosol deodorant. What began as a seemingly innocuous act quickly spiraled into a nightmare as Esra suffered a cardiac arrest and irreversible brain damage.

For Andrea and Paul, the anguish of receiving the call that every parent dreads was compounded by the shock of discovering their daughter’s involvement in chroming—a perilous practice previously unknown to them. Rushing to Esra’s side, they clung to hope as she fought for her life in the hospital, praying for a miracle that never came.

After eight agonizing days on life support, Andrea and Paul faced the unfathomable reality that their daughter’s injuries were beyond repair. With heavy hearts, they made the heart-wrenching decision to let Esra go, cradling her in their arms as she slipped away.

The aftermath of Esra’s passing has left a void that words cannot fill. Her siblings, Imogen, Seth, and Charlie, along with the entire family, are shattered by grief. Paul and Andrea’s pain is palpable as they struggle to come to terms with the loss of their cherished daughter.

In the wake of their tragedy, Paul and Andrea are on a mission to raise awareness about the dangers of chroming, urging parents to educate themselves and their children about the risks lurking behind seemingly harmless household products. Their plea is a solemn reminder of the urgent need for vigilance in safeguarding young lives against the perils of substance abuse.
