Their split was finalised in 2012, and the Dawson’s Creek star was awarded full custody of Suri, with Tom agreeing as part of their hefty divorce settlement that he would pay £321,000 ($400,000) per year in child support to his ex-wife until Suri was 18.

Sadly, the Hollywood action hero has reportedly had little contact with his daughter ever since divorcing Katie, and in a defamation lawsuit against Bauer Media in 2013, Tom admitted he hadn’t seen Suri for three months.“Listen, when there is a divorce… things change,” he said in a deposition. “It’s not an ideal scene. It’s not an ideal situation.”During the same lawsuit, he also confessed that his link to the controversial Church of Scientology had an impact on why he was estranged from his daughter.When asked by lawyers if Katie had left him “in part to protect Suri from Scientology,” Tom replied: “That was one of the assertions, yes.”

Katie opted to bring Suri up in New York, and the mother-daughter duo are often seen out and about living a normal life away from Hollywood. Back in 2017, she told Town & Country magazine that she took a step back from her career in order to give Suri a stable childhood. “My child is the most important person to me, and her upbringing is paramount to my work right now. It’s very important that I’m present and she has a stable, innocent childhood. I feel so blessed to do what I do, but there’s nothing in the world better than watching your child succeed,” she explained.
