Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio has publicly endorsed Kamala Harris for president, expressing his support for the Democratic nominee in a video released on Friday. DiCaprio, a longtime advocate for climate action, has previously supported Democratic candidates, including attending a fundraiser for Joe Biden in early 2020.
Climate change is killing the earth and ruining our economy, we need a bold step forward to save our economy, our planet and ourselves,” DiCaprio said in the video posted to Instagram. “That’s why I’m voting for Kamala Harris.”
In his Instagram post, DiCaprio highlighted the recent devastation caused by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. In the video, he praised Harris for her ambitious goals of achieving net zero emissions by 2050 and building a green economy. He also acknowledged her role in passing the Inflation Reduction Act, noting that as vice president,
she cast the tie-breaking vote on this important climate law, which received support solely from Democrats
