Amidst rumours of an impending split, Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck on Tuesday.
Interestingly, the date raised eyebrows as it marked the couple’s second wedding anniversary.
Court documents obtained by TMZ reveal that Lopez filed for divorce without legal representation on August 20, the same day the couple celebrated—or were meant to celebrate—their second wedding anniversary.
The decision to end the marriage on such a symbolic day has sparked comparisons to Affleck’s 2015 divorce from Jennifer Garner, which was similarly announced just one day after their 10th wedding anniversary.
