Friday, the 53-year-old actor recalled how devastated his son Jaden, now 23, was after the critical and commercial failure of their 2013 film After Earth.

‘After Earth was an abysmal box office and critical failure,” the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actor wrote. ‘And what was worse was that Jaden took the hit.’
Jaden even picked up an accolade for the film, as he won the award for Breakthrough Performance at the 2007 MTV Movie Awards.

The 25-year-old’s next role came just two years later in 2008 with the Scott Derrickson science fiction film The Day the Earth Stood Still, which was a remake of the 1951 classic of the same name.

Unfortunately, that film was quite the car crash, sitting at a lowly 21 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, with fans and critics quite frankly not liking it very much.
